Creating Organizational Health - A Professional Development Workshop

Below is an announcement for an upcoming professional development workshop right here on campus. It is open to all community members (we’ll be forwarding the invite on to the OS and EE Councils to share as well as the Faculty Senate).

The Professional Development Committee of the PAT Council, together with Human Resources, is pleased to invite members of the University community to participate in a workshop designed to introduce methods that individuals can use in building healthy organizational cultures.  


When:            Wednesday, November 18th from 9am-10:30am

What:             Creating Organizational Health Workshop
 
USNH Director of Organizational Wellness and presenter Nancy Puglisi will be leading participants in this workshop, designed as an introduction to methods individuals can use in building healthy organizational cultures.  

Participants will explore the future of wellness in the workplace evolving beyond mechanistic approaches to individual wellness and developing holistic principles leading to organizational health.  At the completion of this experiential learning experience, workshop participants will have an understanding of techniques used to institute a new wellness paradigm into organizational design.

 

Workshop Objectives

 

1)      Differentiate between individual well-being and organizational health

2)      Learn how to build wellness concepts into the strategic planning process of organizations

3)      Understand the concepts of : Emotional Intelligence, Internal Self-Management, Change Processes, Conflict Resolution and Followership

4)      Discover self-awareness and how individual action impacts organizational life

5)      Understand the concepts of the “Speed of Light” and “Speed of Life”
