CORNUCOPIA Care Baskets, Fall 2009
The Community Leadership Program at the UNH Thompson School of Applied Science is partnering with the Cornucopia Food Pantry to provide food baskets during the Thanksgiving season. We are committed to providing baskets to all those who need and request them. This season, we are looking at the challenging prospect of organizing and distributing over 150 baskets. We will be organizing food baskets for the winter holidays as well, and expect the same need. We would appreciate any donations that will help us to reach this goal. We are including a donation form to fill out, and a list of suggested items to be included in a food basket. If you can help, we will need food or monetary donations on Monday, November 23rd. Checks can be made payable to the Cornucopia Food Pantry, and all donations are tax deductible.
Creating Organizational Health - A Professional Development Workshop
Below is an announcement for an upcoming professional development workshop right here on campus. It is open to all community members (we’ll be forwarding the invite on to the OS and EE Councils to share as well as the Faculty Senate).
Feedback on Proposed Time Management Workshop
Given that many of us are under stress due to increased workload yet reduced resources and support, the Professional Development Committee of the PAT Council is working to put together a workshop (or possibly series of workshops) that will provide ideas and tips about time management so that we can get more done (hopefully in the same amount of time!). Some of their ideas for topics include managing your email inbox, project management and delegation but because they want to meet the needs of our staff, they would like YOUR input.

CORNUCOPIA FOOD BASKET PROJECT for Spring 2009
This spring, we are looking at the challenging prospect of having to purchase and distribute over 150 baskets. This is all possible through the generosity of faculty, staff, and students in the UNH and Durham community, countless volunteers, and the support from local community members, the United Campus Ministry to the University of New Hampshire, the UNH Department of Housing, and the Community Church of Durham. Please help us if you can. We are committed to providing food baskets to all those who need and request them, and we need your help to do that. We are including a form to donate a basket, and as well as a list of suggested food items for you to use and include when you donate a basket. You can also visit the website at www.cornucopia.unh.edu <http://www.cornucopia.unh.edu> for more information.
LibQual+ (TM) Survey
The UNH Library is scheduled to take part in the LibQual+ (TM) survey instrument later this spring. The Library last participated in this nationwide survey in 2004, but we believe it is time for us to once again solicit users' opinions in our ongoing efforts to improve library service here at UNH. We are tentatively scheduled to administer the survey between April 6th and May 1st, 2009.
Workplace Climate Survey
Beginning Monday, February 16 through Friday, March 6, 2009, the University of New Hampshire will be conducting a workplace climate survey to discover areas where we are doing well as an employer and where we may need to improve our effectiveness, sense of community, and (delivery of) resources for staff and faculty.
