How well did it go, how can we improve the process for next year?

Sorry, I'm not seeing an imrovement. - Marilyn, OSR. I understand your comment completely, and it's well founded. This year was all new and we received a large number of votes cast, and had ties for two district seats, that resulted in a run-off which ended on 10/5 at midnight. True a number of district seats could have been reported after the main election closed, but it also seemed to be a reasonable choice to wait until all the elections had completed. Perhaps this was not the correct choice? Last week Kristin attempted to send email to all the districts but I had coded the mail such that it blocked email from being sent to anybody when there was no "active" election for that user. We haven't yet figured out if that is something that we should be doing inside the election module on the web, or simply use the standard email conduits that all the council members normally use when distributing council information? Thanks for your comments! This is a first run of this process and we knew that it wouldn't be perfect. I'm glad to see some negative feedback as that helps us to improve things next time.

Comment Re: The FY2010 planned parking permit increases by Anonymous — last modified Oct 26, 2008 07:52 PM
Why are parking permits used to pay for the bus system? Why doesn't the system pay for itself? What about user fees? This seems backwards. Charge the people who drive to pay for the bus? The parking fee should cover the cost of part of a parking space. Fees for Whit events and football game tailgating should be used to help pay for the parking lots. Have the money collected be used by the place it's collected.

Love the photo of you and your little boy, Rob. As we discussed earlier today, it would be nice for the "At Large" Candidates to have a short bio so that we might know a little about them. The process was smooth, easy and elegant. What could be better? Thank you.
